Are you working hard to do everything “right” in your spiritual life, and feeling like you just can’t? Let me tell you, I’ve been there! And it’s actually a good place to be because it teaches us to be dependent on God.
We can’t get this right on our own. I know I can’t. We may try and try harder, and fail over and over again because we don’t have the ability to do what we want.
This can be tough; all our lives we’ve been learning how to be strong and independent. As we grew up, we took more and more responsibility. And we can start to think that our spiritual lives should be like that, too.
That’s where we get it wrong. Natural growth is about independence, while spiritual growth is about dependence.
Let me explain this distinction — it’s critical to understand if we’re going to get this right. Watch the short video below to learn a bit more about being dependent on God and how I’ve experienced this.
