You’ve heard of the joys of motherhood? Today we’re talking about motherhood frustration.
Motherhood is one of my great joys, for sure, but there’s no denying that it’s one of the most challenging things you can do. And boy, when the kids were small, it could be frustrating.
In this video I’m answering a question I’ve heard a lot: “What was one of the hardest things you experienced as a mother of five children aged seven and under?”
(When our twin girls were born, they joined siblings ages two, four, and seven.)
I can tell you — one of the hardest things for me was the feeling that I accomplished nothing. This was so frustrating to me.
I got the kids up and fed and dressed, picked up the house, changed diapers. Somehow nothing I did lasted. It all needed to be done again and again and again. When John would come home at the end of the day I couldn’t tell him one thing I’d actually accomplished.
Have you felt that way?
This is one reason I love my lawn mower. I know that may sound strange, but watch the video! I talk about why I started mowing the lawn, and how that helped give me a sense of accomplishment.
